The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Monster Energy Tour will once again make landfall at the Cairns Convention Centre in 2020.
Hosted in May of this year, the PBR Monster Energy Tour is catapulting off the back of last year’s event success with the nation’s most elite cowboys taking on the rankest of bulls.
Cairns is just one of seven scheduled stops for the PBR tour with riders having the opportunity to earn points towards the PBR World Standings.
Each PBR event features epic match ups of man vs beast in a heated past-paced, action packed, extreme bull riding experience.
PBR General Manager Glen Young is excited for the events return to the tropical far north.
“There are a number of things that combine to make the PBR experience like no other,” he said.
“The rider relies on core strength, balance and their ability to counteract the moves of the bull who can be ten times his size.
“The bulls are genetically bred to buck and come from a long heritage of other former accomplished bucking bulls; he’s agile, athletic and very smart.”
Ravenshoe based bull rider Rohan Markham is just one of many riders looking to try his luck in the ring with beasts many times his size.
“I missed out on last year’s event so I’m looking forward to coming back,” he said.
“I’m more worried about being healthy leading into the event than I am about participating.
“If I trust myself and trust in my abilities I can go in with a strong and positive mindset.”
Mr Markham would like to thank some of his role models from his earlier years; Sam O’Connor and Cody Teace who helped him strive to his goals.
Don’t miss a night out of premium entertainment with Australia’s best bull riding, music, and more on Saturday, May 23 at Cairns Convention Centre.
